Switching to night aligners?
Post Body

I've been doing the all day smile direct club aligners. I'm about to go into my second set of refinements and I dont even think I need them. I'm frustrated about having to go another 3 months with them in. I was thinking about after sending my next impressions asking if I could switch to night time aligners. I dont even know if they will say yes or not. But has anyone ever switched from day to night? One of my biggest issues is that when my bottom aligners start to become looser I start to grind my teeth and chew on them. I only do it when I'm awake and dont grind my teeth in my sleep. So I feel like night time aligners would help keep them in better shape longer and with the new refinements I'll have been in these for 9 months or more so I'm just tired if living in them constantly.

Comments

I actually considered the night version because I thought that the more time you give your teeth to move, the less risky. But after hearing a lot of orthodontists advising against it because it'd force your teeth to move repeatedly, causing more bone damage or something like that. So I decided to go with the daytime version, I just wear the aligners a little longer than prescribed to be safe.
