How the hell do you be fucking good at this game?

I can beat level 9 cpu's 1v1 super easily but as soon as I FUcking play for glory I just get constantly grabbed by everyone or zoned out by projectile billshit like Zelda and Im trying what I know how to do and I feel like no matter what I do I can fucking get any better.
