What Final Smashes do we want to see in Super Smash Bros. 4?
Post Body

So, Sakurai's Pic of the Day and some discussion in that thread had me thinking about the Final Smashes I want to see in SSB4. They were a great idea in Brawl but their imbalance had me playing mostly with items off once their novelty wore off. I thought some characters' Final Smashes were done well aesthetically (really showed off what made that character unique), some characters' Final Smashes were well-balanced (powerful but not necessarily one-hit-K.O.), but few were both. So I'd like to list my thoughts about what could be done for each characters' Final Smash, and I'd like your input in the comments.

Mario - as suggested by /u/MyNameIs_Jordan in the Pic of the Day thread, I think a Mega Mushroom from NSMB would be a good idea, far better than the "Mario Finale" that didn't seem to be pulled from any game. With the Mega Mushroom, Mario would turn huge, a la Giga Bowser, but would focus on crushing enemies rather than keeping his moveset. As Mario's been in hundreds of games, they could do a LOT of different things with this, so I'm curious to hear more ideas. Personally, I think something from the main series is more likely than something from a spin-off.

Luigi - The "Negative Zone" in Brawl was, to say the least, interesting. I think maybe they were referencing World -1 in SMB, or the Minus World glitch in SMB2? Whatever the case, I loved how it showed off the weirdness of Luigi but it didn't necessarily feel unique to his character. For his new Final Smash, I think one of two things could be good and likely - bring in a bunch of ghosts from Luigi's Mansion, including the Polterpup who would essentially serve as Ultimate Chimera in New Pork City (this would give the LM series some representation within his actual moveset), or they could take a cue from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and have dozens and dozens of Luigis rain down, with different buttons doing attacks like the Luigi wrecking ball or Luigi Hurricane.

Peach - Peach's Final Smash always seemed a bit underpowered to me. I'm not sure what they could do for it. I did like how they gave you actual peaches, but maybe that could be achieved with a different Final Smash.

Bowser - I think Giga Bowser is a perfect Final Smash as it is. It gives a nod to Super Smash Bros. Melee, which is awesome.

Donkey Kong - Probably a character whose Final Smash needs buffing the most. It was just bad. I think a good alternative could be having all the animal buddies from the DKC series come in to attack.

Diddy Kong - Diddy's Final Smash was decent before. I'd like it to have a little tighter control though. Maybe they could do something with the Kong POW ability from DKC: TF if they wanted to change it, but I don't think it'd be necessary.

Yoshi - Well, technically Yoshi isn't announced yet. But come on, we all know he'll be in it. Like Diddy Kong, I thought his Final Smash was decent. Not sure how it could be changed.

Wario - Wario-Man seemed really good to me, and was fitting seeing as Wario's moveset was almost entirely from WarioWare. If they decide to make his moveset in the next game more akin to the Wario Land games (a la Project M), then maybe they could change his Final Smash, but if not, this one seems great.

Link - Link's Final Smash seemed decent to me in Brawl. Not terribly creative, but it worked fine and still represented the series.

Zelda - Zelda's Final Smash was more or less a one-hit K.O., but it's long-ranged required accuracy made it not too cheap, at leas tin my opinion. I think this one could stay as it is.

Sheik - I don't know what Sheik's should be, but it should be different than Zelda's. Maybe she could play a song on the harp from Ocarina of Time that triggers something? For example, the Bolero of Fire could warp players into a lava-filled area where they must avoid hazards.

Ganondorf - I liked Beast Ganon. I think even if this gets changed, Ganon should still be part of Ganondorf's Final Smash.

Toon Link - I don't want the same as Link's. I think it should be close-ranged attack like that of Meta Knight's or the Fire Emblem characters' Final Smashes, where if it hits (Wind Waker spoilers ahead) Link jumps in the air and stabs them in the face. It could either do a lot of damage or turn the player into stone, where they are essentially stunned and easy to be hit with fully charged attacks.

Samus - We already know the Zero Laser is returning.

Zero Suit Samus - If ZSS is returning, I think it's very likely her Final Smash will once again be Power Suit Samus. I think it should do a lot more damage this time, though.

Pit - If Palutena becomes a playable character, I think she'll be removed from Pit's Final Smash. So what instead? I think equipping the Three Sacred Treasures to have a buffed moveset like Giga Bowser or Wario-Man could be good. Or he could equip the Great Sacred Treasure, as seen in the last chapter of Kid Icarus: Uprising. This could be like Diddy Kong's, flying around and shooting people. Or it could be like Captain Falcon's, running people over while in Pursuit Mode.

Ice Climbers - I know some people disliked Iceberg, but I thought it was fine.

R.O.B. - the Diffusion Beam seemed a bit cheap to me. Maybe the circle things from Stack-Up could fall onto the other players. Or maybe he could transform into ROB 64 and do something. Or maybe, because R.O.B. is the only character that represents a piece of Nintendo hardware, all the Nintendo consoles could appear and do something. On the 3DS version, all the Nintendo handhelds. These are all stretches but I don't really want the Diffusion Beam to return.

Kirby - I think Cook Kirby should be either gone or majorly buffed. It sucked in comparison to other Final Smashes. As a replacement, I think one of Kirby's giant transform abilities from Kirby's Return to Dream Land could be good, and they could essentially control how they did in that game. Or, if the Dragoon from Kirby Air Ride doesn't return as an item, it could be given to Kirby for his Final Smash, albeit with a bigger target.

King Dedede - Dedede's Final Smash was awful in Brawl. I don't know what else could be done with it though.

Meta Knight - honestly his Final Smash seemed fine to me.

Pikmin & Olimar - I also liked this one.

Fox - I don't want the Landmaster to return for any of the Star Fox characters. It just always seemed irritating. There were plenty of times in which multiple K.O.s were received from one Final Smash alone. Maybe something could be done with his Fire Staff from Star Fox: Adventures. I don't really know though.

Falco - I'd like to see Falco get into an Arwing and shoot at the players with Star Fox control, similar to Snake's Final Smash.

Wolf - I think Andross should be scrapped as an Assist Trophy and instead just be Wolf's Final Smash, with the newer, non-SNES model and more powerful attacks. This is assuming that Wolf returns, however.

Captain Falcon - I absolutely loved Falcon's Final Smash in Brawl. When his moveset was made up from pretty much nothing in 64 and Melee, it was nice to see some F-Zero representation in his actual moveset in Brawl.

Pikachu - I was not a fan of "Volt Tackle" (It barely even resembled Volt Tackle). I'm not sure what I'd want to replace it, though. Maybe evolve into Raichu for a buffed moveset, then defy Pokémon canon and de-evolve back into Pikachu?

Pokémon Trainer - If Pokémon Trainer returns, it may not even be Red - it could be a trainer with Generation II Pokémon or Generation VI Pokémon. That said, I think the Final Smash could remain regardless of the Pokémon, as long as the trio is Grass, Fire, and Water.

Lucario - If Lucario keeps the same exact Final Smash, I may shed a tear. The only reason bringing him back has the tiniest bit of reason is if they make him turn into Mega Lucario for his Final Smash.

Jigglypuff - I don't know, man.

Mewtwo - Same thing with Lucario. I'd really want to see Mega Mewtwo. Preferably Mega Mewtwo X, not Mega Mewtwo Y.

Marth - maybe nerf his Final Smash a little bit to make a closer range be required before the near-automatic one-hit-K.O.

Ike - I doubt he's returning but his Final Smash seemed fine to me. Maybe a LITTLE too powerful.

Ness - I thought Ness and Lucas's Final Smashes were just bad in Brawl. I haven't played EarthBound or Mother 3 so I don't know what else they could be. I'd love some input.

Lucas - see Ness.

Mr. Game & Watch - I didn't like the Octopus in Brawl. I think there's a lot of opportunity for creativity with his though. Maybe have a bunch of Game & Watch sprites appear on screen doing various attacks.

Snake - I don't think Snake will return but if he does, I thought his Final Smash was great in Brawl. Maybe give it a time limit in addition to an ammo limit.

Sonic - Probably the most infamous Final Smash, Super Sonic was regarded as too cheap. I wouldn't want Super Sonic removed, though, as I think it's a perfect representation of the hedgehog's final form. Having anything but would seem a little off (They removed Super Sonic from Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and his All-Star move just felt lackluster). That said though, I think Super Sonic could certainly be nerfed.

Newcomers

Villager - Bees.

Mega Man - Maybe Super Mega Man from Mega Man 6?

Wii Fit Trainer - We already know her's is called "Wii Fit", and it looks to be a little bit like Mario's from Brawl, but with a wider range of where the projectiles can hit.

Rosalina & Luma - I feel like her's could be really over-the-top. After all, just last month Sakurai casually layed down that the entire cosmos is beneath Rosalina's gown. So maybe something like the entire galaxy getting destroyed. I don't know. On a more serious note, I could see something being done with the Comet Observatory, or maybe her launching herself from a Launch Star into the players, kind of like Beast Ganon.

Little Mac - we already saw it in his reveal trailer. Big Mac, Amac on Titan, whatever you want to call it... it's based on Giga Mac from Punch-Out!! on the Wii. And it looks pretty cool.

So these are my thoughts. I'd really love some discussion from the rest of /r/smashbros. Also, feel free to discuss what Final Smashes you'd want from newcomers that aren't even announced - like Chrom, Lucina, Ridley, Dixie Kong, etc.
