Post Body

I just got a new place and I have started to think about what I want my room to be like.

One thing I realized is that at certain times I would like there to be the sound of a mini fountain, but without the water.

I would also potentially like to be able to orchestrate smartphone “scenes” where there is a ”scene” for “wind down” where there is the small fountain sound and the lights dim and turn purple or something.

I currently have no smartphone equipment. But here are sort of my constraints

  • I would love for it to work with HomeKit and Siri/Siri Shortcuts. I actually would generally rather press a button (shortcut) and have everything work over dictating it
  • I would like it better if it were an actual sound machine as those don’t play pre-recorded stuff and you don’t have to worry about quality varying across different sounds as you would if you were drawing these from Spotify.
  • Lower budget. Hopefully under 50$ but if there is something that does this perfectly I am all ears.
  • It’s better if it isn’t playing directly from my phone so that my phone is not tied up with the scene. I want to be able to use my phone like normal and that means Spotify etc should be free to play.

In addition I would rather not need an Alexa, Google Home, nor HomePod to pull this off. I am open to it but would really really rather not.
