Hi everyone - I have had many tests done and some say I have this and others say I donāt. So I really donāt know.
I have been dealing with this uncomfortable and terrifying feeling like I am not breathing. The hospital (and everyone else) says that I am and they send me home. But it is a weird feeling like I donāt feel the air moving in and out of my chest. It is like a hollow, dead feeling in the center of my chest, by my sternum.
I also always clean my bathroom with bleach and it usually irritates my lungs. Today when I was cleaning the a bathroom, I didnāt feel as affected by the bleach smell and I didnāt haveto go outside to breathe. I just donāt āfeelā like the nerves in these areas are working. I havenāt recently been sick, or done anything different. I know that I havenāt had covid or any other respiratory illness.
When I feel like I cannot āfeelā myself breathing, I get serious panic attacks. So bad, that I have called the ambulance 5 times in the past 2 weeks. Itās going to be one hefty bill when I get it in the mail.
My psychiatrist keeps telling me this is a psychosomatic issue. That when I start āthinkingā that I canāt āfeelā myself breathe, I panic and that is how it goes downhill from there with the ambulances.
Is there anyway I can ātestā to see if the sensory nerves are broken and this is what is occurring? I am beyond scared and terrified and I donāt want to lose the ability to breathe on my own.
Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
A very terrified Redditor
Are you sure they did every test? Have you been evaluated for interstitial lung disease with high contrast CT? (HRCT)...
Have you had arterial blood gas testing done?
Have you been tested for Sjogrens?

It appears as normal. Have you had an iron panel done recently? Or a CBC and CMP?
