Edit: fixed!
I have a Black and Decker SPCM 1936 lawn mower that was given to me because they previous owner couldn't get the blade back on after sharpening. Sounds like a simple fix so I gladly took it off their hands. I've been at it for a while and I need help!
This video shows how it should work on a similar model (not my video) https://youtu.be/KYKd01pKU0s
The problem is when I tighten the nut, the insulator spins over the top of the blade instead of tightening down.
I recorded what's happening here: https://youtu.be/tzGJOBxTrbI
Skip to about 1:15 to see the problem.
I've tried a couple new insulators just in case, and I've tried holding it with vice grips. The problem is it's not even close, the sideways torque is much stronger than the downward pressure.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
