Pulled a Ryobi RY08578 backpack blower out of the shed and cleaned it up after a decade or so of inactivity. Replaced the spark plug, replaced the fuel cap/filter, and gave it a few pulls on the cord with the spark wire disconnected to run the fuel through. Unfortunately, it’ll only run with a lot of choke, and is a hard start. The choke has to be between 100% and probably 75% for it to start or stay running, even after running it for minutes on end. I ran some Seafoam through it and it runs better longer, but still only with choke and throttle. Changing the choke or letting off the throttle will kill it and then have to restart back at high choke, and power while it’s running isn’t great.
What’s left to do? Adjust the carb? If so, how so?
