I just started a business and currently make a few hundred on a good month. I'm still seeding the business with my own money, though it's almost self sustaining.
I know I need to pay quarterly estimated taxes. This has been a source of overwhelming anxiety. I'd like to hire a tax person, but it's not currently in my budget.
My questions:
Can I ignore deductions until the end of the year and just pay an estimated tax each quarter? Or is it better to apply at least some deductions?
Is there someone I can call and ask questions related to taxes and deductions without having to hire them?
I filed a DBA and a few months later decided to change the name and so I'm going to file another. How does that affect the way I pay taxes? Do I pay whatever estimated taxes for the first dba and then once the name change is approved I start paying under the new name? Is there anything I need to keep in mind for this?
Thanks so much!
