Hi there SB gang. Just looking for some more insight beyond what I found on the internet. I’m looking to take advantage of SEC179 deducting the full price of a vehicle first year.
The vehicle I’m considering that would be great for our company is 5900lbs not 6000lbs. I’m wondering how this plays out since the deduction is for GVW of 6000. Does this fall close enough? There’s things I will have to add to my vehicle that will certainly make it over 6000lbs but I imagine the registration will read the true weight if I’m not mistaken. Wondering if there is any play here with the 6000lb vehicle.
Basically, all the cars that I found that say qualify are vehicles that are way beyond the needs of our business like large/luxurious SUV’s and Pick up trucks, again I have no need for those types of vehicles or really the budget for some because most of these vehicles start at 50k and I’m looking at ~44k.
I’m located in the US.
Thanks in advance.
