I wrote a thread 3 days ago where i talked about a letter my US LLC received from [PicRights] Asking for $700 just because a website template used in a secondary (disclaimer) page of a website with 0 traffic and 0 ads automatically added a cropped image that shows one tenth (10%) of an image, of which i didn't know the rights belonged to the AFP from 2016.
I took down the entire website.
The website and the LLC both never earned a single dime ever and have 0 assets. (It was literally days from going to market)
They have just came back with an email threatening to pass it to their legal department if i don't pay.
As if dealing with cancer and the loss of my source of income wasn't enough, if i don't pay what amounts to 4 months of salary where i am from (which i don't even have as my salary used to entirely go into covering the company's expenses), i may have to pay attorney fees now if they sue the company (not a us resident).
All my hopes were based on the possible success of this company so that maybe my predicament improves and my life starts getting a bit better yet here i am earning 0 and LOSING SLEEP over this.
I am "No Kidding" unable to sleep due to dark thoughts !!!
I'm thinking of dissolving the company, notifying them of the dissolution and the absence of assets to cover claims, and just let go of the business...
It was so close from going to market... Years of work.... But i just won't be able to withstand a lawsuit in a foreign country...
All this from a 10% portion of a photo that was automatically added by a template on a secondary page, how can you even predict such a thing! sometimes misfortune beats you to the ground out of absolutely no where...
I would please ask for opinions about the company dissolution... Will this make them stop the harrassment?
