I see a ton of posts every day here about the low hanging fruit SBs - drop shipping, SEO, "consulting" etc. Personally, I could care less about those. What I'm mainly interested in is hearing how some of the more niche, family owned SBs got started. For example, I was offered a position at a small family owned company that specialized in producing and shipping custom ag fans. The business was located in a place that has little to no agriculture, but was absolutely booming. How the hell do you come up with that? It's brilliant.
Using the example above as a primer for my generic questions.. How did you first discover your niche? What kind of research did you do to determine what kind of market share to expect? Did you know your competitors or did you go into it blind? Did you canx a business idea due to market saturation?
Super interested in the responses. Thanks in advance!
