I recently got pretty heavy into one of my largest passions, reptiles. I have been poking around the idea of opening a small brick and mortar store selling reptile supplies and reptiles. Most of my supplies would be from suppliers at wholesale pricing. Pricing is anywhere from 20% -60% below their recommended MSRP they have listed. While I know 20% isn't realistic, some items are very good profit margins provided being able to move them in bigger quantities.
Does your business sell products provided at wholesale for higher than MSRP?
As for looking into running this small business, what percent of products to sales do you try and keep on hand? Obviously I would keep the best sellers in stock.
