First, I have been a SlingTV user for a few years. I have always thought that SlingTV had the best service. But I have a Mac. SlingTV on the Mac ONLY works with Chrome.
The issues is Chrome is a piece of crap that constantly kicks off background processes (scraping your computer for information) causing major lag and performance degradation on the computer. I also have found that Chrome keeps trying to load Malware.
SO... I will NOT load Chrome on my computer.
No problem, I will just tell Safari to mimic Chrome so SlingTV can't tell the difference. But NO! Sling lets me log in and see the Guide etc., but as soon as you click on a video: Nothing. Black Screen.
So, Off we go to Cancel my Subscription and try other service. Turns out HULU is the only one with the same level of TV channels that meets my needs. BUT! HULU is a piece of Crap!!. Horrible video quality and streaming.
So, I started researching what else I could do and amazingly, found out that Microsoft Edge was now available for the Mac and Sling now support Edge. But Edge is based on Chromium and not going to let it screw up the computer like Chrome. So test it and test it. Seems ALL GOOD!! Yeah! I have an Option.
SO... Sign up for Sling again, try it on MS Edge and AMAZING, it all works again!!!
I am Happy.
Then a week later, Sling decides to update there software so that Edge can only be used on a PC to support Sling and now Sling tells me:
Microsoft Edge is an Unsupported Browser
Just spent over an hour chatting with Sling and they basically say, sorry we have no intention of helping you. No intention of supporting other browsers and go Buy a PC.
SO... here I am again, cancelling Sling.
NOTE: If anyone from Sling is looking at this, fire you Dev team, they suck, and realize you have put your brand behind a product that is actually effecting your customer's computers, loading Malware and scraping their personal information for nefarious uses. Are you sure that is best for your company image? Pay Attention: I am a MAC user that was WILLING to load a Microsoft browser onto me computer to try of use YOUR service. Just think about that for a minute when you decide you need to stick with Chrome as your platform.
