Hi there, first time poster.
My 15 month old son is having a brutal streak of sleep regression. We are thinking it's separation anxiety. He is completely amazing all day, happy and cheerful. He goes down well but usually wakes after 3 or 4 hours and cries for what can be hours if we don't go in and snuggle with him. He throws his soothers out of the crib knowing we will come in. He also stands at the side of his crib crying.
He is doing this multiple times a night after the 3-4 hour sleep and his single afternoon nap is shorter. He wakes up and then starts his hard crying.
We have tried the CIO method but he never goes back to sleep. Only when we comfort him by taking him from the crib he relaxes and goes back to bed.
Really looking for some help here as the 2 hour cries a night are taking their toll. Baby boy is healthy otherwise and teething maybe a small factor, but the separation seems to be the issue.
We have tried cry it out for 15mins before reassuring him but every time we do a check in his crying gets more extreme
Thanks in advance
