Hi! We started sleep training my daughter at five months using the CIO method. It worked wonderfully and we only had to redo it whenever she reached certain milestones. As she’s gotten older, she’s been crafty at delaying the bedtime routine but would ultimately lay down and go to sleep when we asked her to.
Well now that she’s approaching four she’s been much more adamant about not wanting to go to bed. She’s been wanting to cuddle and not accepting the fact that we will only do it for a few minutes before leaving. It’s been full on guilt tripping that we are abandoning her. At least that’s what it feels like for us.
My question is what are we supposed to be doing at this age? The CIO just doesn’t seem feasible and we never learned what to do as she got older. Help!
