Sleep Training - I have questions before we start

Post Body

TLDR: About to start sleep training our 6.5month old. We have been co-sleeping the past month due to sickness. We have told by our MCHN to try a 2-4-6-8-10 method (cry 2mins, settle for 1min then cry for 4mins, etc). We are also going to use a routine/schedule from Save our Sleep These are the questions I have.

  • Once we hit the 10min interval, how long would you keep it up?
  • Should he be sleeping in his own room?
  • If he wakes at night, do you start the whole thing again or just try to resettle?
  • Any other Tips and Tricks you can recommend?

HISTORY aka Long Verison So our little man is 6.5months old. Hes never been a great sleeper. 30-40mins naps and 3hrs max per cycle at night. We also think he has a diary allergy which will be confirmed within the week.

First week of December, all hell broke loose. 1hr night sleeps. Full regression. Rocked in pram, car, etc. At the same time, he got his first cold and besides our best judgement, we started co-sleeping. Through in Christmas and New Year and our routine is out the window.

Fast forward to now, we are a month away from him starting daycare, we have lost our "me time" between the wife and I so we have decided now is the time.

All advice and Tips/Tricks would be amazing
