Our daughter is now one and has been sleep trained using extension since she was 5/6 mo. Sheβs usually a great sleeper, and in last six months while healthy or sick, we have managed to stick to our sleep training and have only gone in a handful of times. Well, last night she was sick and we decided to go in to comfort her and give more medicine when she woke up crying. Luckily she went back to sleep when we put her back in her crib. But every night that she is sick and wakes up, we always have the same worry that going in will undo her sleep training. Is anyone else more forgiving when your child is sick? What do you do to comfort them if you do go in and get them back to sleep? Does doing that while they are sick have any long term affects to the sleep training?
Thanks!
