I'm lucky that my 4 month old is a great night sleeper (so far), and typically sleeps 10-12 hours through the night in his crib. Napping has been hit or miss, and I usually end up wearing him in a sling during the day. He starts daycare on Monday, and of course I'm anxious about all of the changes and what that will do to our routine. The daycare provider mentioned letting him nap in a swing, but I'm afraid that could mess up the good thing we having going with the crib at night. I know swings are not considered safe, but she insisted he would be supervised at all times.
Do I let her go ahead and put him in the swing to try to get him to nap? I am fairly certain he will end up screaming if they put him in a pack and play for this. It takes a good deal of work to get him to nap in a crib, and it's only successful maybe 1 out of 5 times. Not to mention the noise of the other children/etc. On the one hand, I'd love for him to keep getting SOME sleep, because he's better at night when he's well rested during the day. On the other, I don't want the swing to become a crutch and mess up all of the crib work we've done.
Does anybody have any thoughts/tips/advice?
