I posted about 2 weeks ago that my daughter was having the worst time with separation anxiety and sleeping. We ended up seeing a sleep coach who recommended the "chair" or "camping out" method. It started with being at the foot of her bed and gradually moving closer to the door. I'm happy to how report that we are now in the hallway stage. She falls asleep without needing me in her sight. There's still quite a few wakes up but generally I am able to tuck her back in and get decent blocks of sleep for myself. We've implemented special 1 on 1 time with myself and reading books, visualization techniques etc. to help ease her anxiety. We also do some controlled crying as well. If she doesn't go back to sleep or keeps checking to see i'm there we do some CIO. Just want to provide an update and for anyone going through a tough phase that hard work and consistency do pay off. Hang in there!!
