Hi,
I have a AMD Ryzen 9 7950x, NVIDIA 4090 and 32GB ram. I have been trying to play skyrim but the performance is so slow it's almost unplayable. I even tried turning off the vsync in the nvidia control panel, but no luck. How should i fix this??
update:
- I am using vanilla Skyrim VR.
- using 100% resolution and i have uncheck the using auto resolution settings too.
- Using oculus quest 2
- And I've got a 5800x3D so I'm certainly not lacking for CPU
When i start the game, i saw in the process monitor, the skyrimvr uses 100% of my gpu memory. The weird part is even though i have about 24GB of video memory, the 100% in the taskbar shows it's using about 4gb and that's 100%, which i found to be weird. How can it use 100% of my gpu and still consume 4gb?
Update 2: Fixed. It seems the Integrated GPU was getting used instead of dedicated GPU. Even though I specified the apps in question to use the GPU. Verified this was happening in process monitor. Then had to figure out that part on how to make sure to use dedicated instead. For me it came down to upgrading to win 11 from win 10. That fixed it.
