Help using nexus mod manager

I have been trying to use the nexus mod manager to download mods for skyrim from the site when i click download it keeps failing telling me the link is bad. this is on all mods i have tried not just a single one. if anyone has had this happen and knows a fix please help me so i can get back to playing skyrim again.
