Any mods that make ranks within factions matter?

At the end of the civil war on the Imperial side, doesn't the player became a Legate? Isn't that a super high ranking position within the Legion?
I was always disappointed with how high our ranks within these factions we achieve and what we get as rewards and how little power/influence we can exert afterwards.
Are there any mods which remedy this at all? Just curious
