Hi everyone. I have recently come back to Skyrim after a few years. I've never beaten the game (always getting sidetracked) but I'm determined to do so this time...eventually.
I am wondering how Skyrim has impacted you. What does this game give you that no other does? How does it stay fresh for you after existing for so many years?
Personally, I tend to struggle with games. I have Autism and ADHD, so it is not uncommon for me to either a) stop playing a game because it is too difficult and I am frustrated, or b) find a new obsession and switch to something else
But Skyrim has been a different experience. It's absolutely gorgeous and I love the aesthetic of the different environments. There is so much to do that the main story only feels like a small slice of the game. I'm a sucker for those small "kill this bandit leader" bounty letter quests and even small things like that are super fun.
I get to customize my character and her playstyle to be whatever I desire. For this playthrough I am a goth looking wood elf archer who values fashion over utility, so she will sometimes choose "nicer" looking armor over the one with the best stats.
As someone with some mental health struggles and a busy life, a game like Skyrim is fantastic for me because it's a way to immerse myself into another environment and just relax for a while. In Skyrim, I'm not a stressed out university student. I'm whatever I want to be, and that's pretty cool! :)
How has Skyrim affected your life?
