I've looked on a bunch of different forums and websites for solutions to this but none have worked, and I think my case is somewhat strange, so any help would be greatly appreciated. If this is the wrong place to post this, let me know.
Problem
A couple of days ago, I went to play on my character on Skyrim Special Edition (PS4), got a few seconds into the loading screen, then got a crash with this message:
An error has occurred in the following application
(CE-34878-0)
Skyrim
I did a bunch of searching and found that this crash message is pretty common but no solution has worked for me yet. Here is some information that might be relevant as well:
This only occurs when trying to access one character, not any past characters or my brothers character (this is the strangest and scariest part to me, makes me think something is wrong with the savegame of my character)
I have one mod installed, for fixing the display cases in hearthfire, but my brothers character uses the same mod
All of my characters save files are on Solstheim, if that changes anything at all
What I have tried
Turning off the PS4 and disconnecting the power for 15 seconds, then reconnecting
Loading the save file without the mod in the load order
Loading a previous save (with without mod)
Backing up all saves and initializing PS4, re-downloading and trying to load the saves
Check for updates of both system software and Skyrim
Like I said, any info could be helpful, this is a long time character and would be really frustrating to have to abandon! If there's anything I forgot to put that might help let me know as well.
Thank you!
