I feel really bad killing Falmer

I really wish we didn’t have to wade through waves of Falmer during the Dawnguard quest, and that we didn’t have to kill them in Dwemer ruins either. I wish there was a way to befriend them, or at least not have to fight them. It feels awful basically committing genocide on a race that was already screwed over by both the Nords and the Dwemer.

Pacify works. Falmer won't have anything to say when calmed, but that Illusion spell will stop them from attacking as you move through their areas and leave them be.
