Skyrim Stability and Mods - Any tips? (x-post from /r/skyrimmods)
Post Body

I'm suffering from random crashes to desktop and I think I've figured it to the point that it is a RAM program from Google-fu - Skyrim gets pushed too much information and freaks out. My problem, I think, is that I play on Ultra settings with a lot of mods - the 2k graphics, WATER, etc.

I'm pretty sure that it isn't my CPU or GPU as neither get especially hot during play (50 C is the highest I've seen), but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Now, the first idea is to step down on the graphics... but it is just so pretty, that seems to be a waste.

I've been able to replicate this by using the console (player.modav Stamina 20000) and then just sprinting from Helgen down to the west or through to Whiterun. Nothing stutters much (on SSD) until it finally just crashes. And when I look at the Temp history, it doesn't seem to be a problem as they are lower than my benchmarking temps without any issues.

So... anyone have any advice?
