A prominent member of Whiterun Hold, Thane and owner of the bountiful wheat farm of Goldenhills Plantation, Jael had long supported the Companions of Jorrvaskr. With his mass of imperial wealth, Jael is not only a wealthy benefactor but companion himself.

In his twilight days, the Harbinger bestowed a task upon the Dragonborn, to cure his lycanthropy. Together with his escort, the Dragonborn felled the great witches that bestowed the powers of the Hircine upon the companions.

On their return to Whiterun, they discovered tragedy. A bold attack on Jorrvaskr by the Silverhand, werewolf hunters, left the Harbinger dead in the mead hall of old.

Council with the inner circle, the upper echelon of the companions, the Dragonborn insisted it was the wish of the old Kodlak to live his eye writ in Sovngard, not with the lord Hircine.

Together the Circle embarked to carry out this final wish, travelling far into the north. They destroyed the severed heads of the witches, thus severing the curse upon old Kodlak.
