Messaging takes up the whole window?

Hey, I'm on the current desktop version on Windows 10 (due to be forced...) and now instead of having the contacts in a bar on the side when I'm messaging someone with the messages in the rest of the window, the message part takes up the WHOLE window.
What's happening and how do I fix it?
