SKR is one of my favorite shows. I think it’s great the experiments they are doing. HOWEVER, in the back of my mind, I sometimes wonder what’s going to happen if whatever is under the triangle or the mesa…gets tired of being poked and prodded and decides to “vent” to their temper. Depending on how mad they are, could it be “goodbye Salt Lake City, “goodbye” Provo and maybe “goodbye” Las Vegas and points west…LA anyone? Just something I have been thinking about.
Have you not read the history of what happened...?
Honestly I think it's already mad, but I don't think that anger would be explosive. I think the "mad" started when the Shermans encountered that massive wolf. Instead of paying it their respects, they tried to kill it for trying to take a calf, after it kindly greeted the them. If you're sitting on Native American land and an unusually large animal comes up to solemnly greet you, and even let's your kids pet it....let it take the damn calf.
And then Mrs. Sherman blamed the Native Americans in the area for the appearance of the wolf. It was all very tacky, reeking of white privilege, and lacking in respect for any spirituality of the land.
So things got worse and weirder, and then more white guys showed up poking and prodding through the years.
I think it's clear that whatever thinness is there, is letting in worse and angrier things through. The "hitchhiker" effects, the hostile presences, etc. I think those dark things are taking a more individual and insidious approach. Considering what was reported in Skinwalkers at the Pentagon, I worry most about that hitchhiker effect and how it might affect the cast and their families.
I think lore does have it's place! But I just mean "general weirdness", really, not Skinwalkers in particular. I think there's a lot of different names and legends around the same weirdness. And the hitchhiker effect thing has been cited by several different government personelle, and in other studies. That stuff feels more like something spiritually malevolent.

The history of the Sherman era of the ranch is worth deep-diving into. Most articles gloss over a lot. They were a wealthy family that wanted to try cattle farming, they were new to it, and it was a literal attempt at creating a cash cow.
They bought land on native ground. And a huge wolf greeted them and let the kids pet it before attempting the take off with a calf. Then Gwen Sherman filed complaints at with the local Native American tribes, blaming them for the wolves. She was really disrespectful. That's when weird stuff started.
To me, everything about the incidents at the ranch shows a callous and disrespectful attitude towards Native culture. Things were always weird in that area. But they didn't get dangerous until after the attempting killing of the wolf.
I can't help but think if they approached being on that land as respectful visitors, took into consideration that there were some spiritual things at play that they were not used to, and let what appeared to be a local land diety have its sacrifice of a calf, things would have been much different.
