Sooo, anybody have an explanation for how both the Levan brothers fell in love with XXXX?

We have a lot of new watchers so I don’t want to spoil anything.
I always thought I missed the subtext of Nick liking Franky the first go round, but nope. One day on a jog he’s suddenly like I love you Franky.
It’s so weird and not explained.
Am I just missing something?
