Making a skimboard, need some advice

After completing my short project to make a body surfing hand gun I'm keen to make a skim board though I have a few questions;
Thickness - For those who own or have made a skim board what thinkness is it?
Rocker - I'm aware most boards have rocker though does anybody have a board without that works effectively?
