I have a question about rigging equipment. Specifically for the "Slip Hook"
Post Body

Our welding instructor was talking about the "Slip Hook" during our overview on material handling, & he said that "old dog" trades people call the safety latch on a Slip Hook, the "mouse". He doesn't know where the term came from, & I wanted to know why the safety latch is called The Mouse.
