Thredbo - best time to go?

Hey skiers & riders & fellow shredders -
I want to plan a trip to Thredbo for their 2019 season (roughly 9-12 months from now) - what's the best time to go:
- Typically best snow months?
- Cheapest travel times during the season (or holidays to avoid)?
- hot tips on combining with a couple days in Sydney?
I have no idea how long the winter season is down in oz so any info appreciated. Flying from Denver, probably bringing our own gear.
