I see lots of quiver pics all day, but I’m curious how many of you know which pair you’re going to ride all day and just bring that one to the hill vs who brings a few pairs to cover the conditions when you get there?
I’ll go first - Live in Tahoe, 20 mins from my hills, I usually take 2 pairs and decide in the lot, but almost always ski the same pair all day. I’d guess I change skis mid-day only about 5-6 days a season.
Thule box goes on Thanksgiving week and stays until April. I like options. On boring but well groomed days I like to have the option to swap into my GS boards. On trash days, rock skis. If it dumped and I want to get early hot laps, touring setup. And sometimes I just wanna rip my PBR Libtechs. Because fuck it why not.
I also ski 4 days a week so it's just easier if the gear lives in the car. I've never regretted having options. I have bitterly regretted not having them.
It's way easier to schlep 7 pairs of skis up a flight of stairs once and have them ready to rock all season.
