Pulled my old SL skis out of my parents' garage. Obviously I tried adjusting them to my boots. Also obviously, this happened.
Don't trust 15 year old plastic with your knees.
And yes, I know these particular Atomic bindings have sucked since day one. I broke a few pairs racing.

Absolutely true. I broke more than one pair while racing on them in high school. They've always been trash.
Been working in shops for almost 10 years and still had to beg my dad to replace the ones he had on his skis because it would kill me to see anything happen to him

Believe it or not, even those will eventually break. I have a couple pairs from the 80s. They're no longer safe.
No. They physically can't accept a boot in this condition. You can't even click in.
Oh. They'll explode. Or at this point they'll more like rip apart. Some of the least confidence-inspiring bindings I've ever ridden.

Classic. I've worked in a few shops in my time and those crusty old guys who refuse to acknowledge that shit just becomes unsafe over time are always interesting to argue with
