I remember paying $5 for a weekday ticket at Alta Ski Resort (Utah, USA) in 1983 which was for a peak season full day ticket. There were hardly ever any lift lines and they had mostly double chairs and just a couple of triples back then. My home was only about 35 minutes away from the parking lot. We could take a city ski bus to get there for $1.00. The powder days were incredible and often could be 30-40 inches deep, sometimes that much fell overnight, and it didn’t get tracked out right away.
Tickets cost $184 now. I had no idea how good I had it back then!
