Hey Reddit, need some advice on a trip I have coming up to Revelstoke this year in early March. I've been skiing since I was 2, basically grew up on my home mountain on the East Coast USA, ripped it through trees, down steeps, ice, moguls, you name it I've been doing it since I was in kindergarten. I'm no pro, but I am pretty confident in my abilities to traverse most anything. Home mountain for the last decade has been Killington/Pico in VT.
Unfortunately what I don't have much experience with is deep powder, and im potentially looking to do a day heli ski while I'm up in Revelstoke this year in the Monashees. Coming from the East Coast, how steep is the learning curve for Skiing backcountry BC powder? I'd be doing this solo, so getting put with another group of 3, and just want to make sure ill be able to hang and not bring down anyone's aspects of the day trip. I'd normally not hesitate to ski anything, but everyone always says deep powder is a bit different than the normal type of Skiing we are used to on the East coast. Worth it or not? Anyone that has been in a similar boat please give me a shout!
