I love tony hawk. But if we’re being real, Rodney Mullen invented pretty much most of the tricks we use now. Tony hawk is #1 bc of the video games (no disrespect at all I love tony hawk) but Rodney Mullen should be WAY more of a household name than he is. He invented the kickflip, heelflip, 360 flip, and so so many more. Rodney sort of invented street skating Edit- I think a lot of y’all misunderstood me. Non skaters like my parents for example know of tony hawk probably from the video games. Im sure my parents have never even heard of Rodney Mullen. I’m not taking anything away from the bird man, I just feel like Rodney Mullen deserves that level of recognition. I think Tony hawk and Rodney Mullen should both be tied for first. Or maybe they should both be behind peralta, alva, jay, etc EDIT 2- most of the people commenting apparently didn’t even read the post? I didn’t ask if Rodney wanted it. I never said Tony didn’t do an insane amount for skateboarding. And if tony read this I’m sure he’d 100% agree with me.
