This is a random scenario I thought of a bit ago and was wondering what some of yall would think or have to say about it.
Years in the future the USA is severely overpopulated, which is leading to food shortages, homelessness, and many other problems. The government decides that they will be shrinking 50% of the population to 6 inches tall, to allow more space, and they will also be building neighborhoods for those who shrink.
Scenario 1: The decision to shrink is completely your own
Scenario 2: The government forces all US citizens to go through a shrink test where its a 50% chance of either shrinking, or staying perfectly normal. You can either go back to your normal life as a normal sized person, or have to live out the rest of your life as a tiny.
If you do get shrunk, it is your decision to move into a tiny neighborhood which the government will be building, or you can stay with family or friends to be taken care of.
