Bought a chastity cage for the first time. Anything I should know?

So I did plenty of research and got advice on how to get the right fit, and what kind to get. So I got that covered, but something I do need help on is advice. I want to mentally prepare myself for what’s going to happen. Is there any notable things I should take into account when I put it on for the first time? How often should I clean it? How does it feel? Is it safe to wear over long periods of time at the start? Or should I get accustomed to it before going for longer times?
