how do you start makeup?

So im new to makeup and have no real idea what im doing, however, i think i can figure out how to apply it if k had all the supplies. Ive tried to watch youtube videos and its just so confusing to start like how can i tell what skin tone i am, what concealer shade do i need, what products and supplies do i actually need, etc. Theres alot and its very confusing
