Considering activating my in-car radio... is it worth it?

So, I'm considering activating my in-car radio. I haven't listened to it much during the brief trial, my commute is 10 minutes. But this summer I will be having some really long trips that I'd like to supplement my usual audiobook with something, and while I usually stream on my phone, I'll be in areas where cell coverage is less than stellar.
So, are the music channels very repetitive? DJ's annoying? Is it worth the cost?
