Tension in one language, none in others (19M, tenor)
Post Body

So I've started a vocal performance minor, and for my jury in two weeks I'm performing Vaga Luna Che Inargenti in D-flat (high note is E-flat 4) and I always have a ton of tension when I perform it, and I have to almost entirely reset when I sing the E-flat half note at the end of each verse, but for my other jury piece, I'm performing Zueignung in C major (high note is A4), and the E natural 4 in the second measure of each verse feels totally natural for me, and nearly effortless, I can absolutely nail the A in the last verse, and even got vibrato on it during my lesson yesterday. Does anyone else have this problem, where singing in one language is natural and loose, with no hangups, but then in another language you just build up a ton of tension? Do you guys have any advice, ideally specifically for Italian, but in general as well? If it would help I can add recordings later today of me doing both songs.

Thank you guys!
