5. Match Ups |
---|
Hard matchups are usually ranged champions with pokes. You can’t approach them easily since they have slow, stun or dash to stay away from you. As a result, you often lose lane against them.
Medium matchups can be either ranged or melee champions. They are not easy matchups because they often out-damage you during a trade. But they are not hard matchups either, since you can exploit enemy when they miss their skillshots or their abilities are in cooldown.
Easy matchups are usually AD melee champions, since you can always walk away from trade easily so they can’t deal consistent damage on you.
Difficulty | Champion | W/R | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Hard | Temmo | 42.5% | His winning condition is to deter your CS/Exp in laning phase and snowball into a secondary carry in teamfight. While on-hit build is popular among Temmo mains, he deals primarily magic damage in early game. You want to rush MR boot first which gives you defensive stats and an option to go aggressive with movement speed. Proxy or asking for camp will deter his winning condition. Roaming helps since his waveclearing is weak in early game. Invading with jungler is another option, since Temmo is weak in early skirmish. You will win the matchup at level 6 if your CS/Exp isn’t very behind ( - 15 CS, same level). Personally I don’t think Temmo is a undefeatable matchup. It's true he is very annoying in early game, but he doesn’t offer much in mid-late game like Kayle, Jayce and Kennen. You also have kill potential on him once you have corrupting potion and at level 5 (level 3 Q). He probably deserves a ban regardless. |
Hard | Kayle | 43% | Her winning condition is to provide pressure on top side due to her strong waveclearing. She will become a hyper-carry after completing two attack speed items. Thornmail is a good item which slows down her attack speed and applies grievous wound on her. MR boot also gives you tenacity against her slow and takes less magic damage from her auto. Invading with jungler is another option, since she is weak and squishy in early skirmish. Kill potential only emerges when she makes stupid mistakes or you are a level ahead of her. when playing against Kayle, consider putting an early point into W and asking for ganks. She murders you in lane, but she's not as mobile as other hard counters and she's fairly squishy. An early gank or two with well timed W & E can turn the lane in your favor (thanks /u/chi-ro). |
Hard | Heimerdinger | 46% | His winning condition is to deter your CS/Exp in laning phase and takes down turrets as soon as possible. Proxying will easily deter his winning condition. You actually have kill potential over him before level 6 by using ghost and fight him outside of his turrets. But why would you do that when you can dive mid with youe junglee? Similar to Temmo, you will win the matchup at level 6 if your CS/Exp isn’t very behind ( - 15 CS, same level). Rush mercury for tenacity. |
Hard | Jayce | 49.1% | Insane pokes, dominant in lane, scale well. He deserves a ban since you can't out-damage or out-chase him. Proxy, roam, invade, early gank from jungler will make him useless. Rush Bramble and Tabbis. |
Hard | Kennen | 49.6% | Similar to Jayce, but more notorious since he doesn't consume mana and he has free escape tool. He deserves a ban due to good scaling, good teamfight utility and good damage. Proxy, roam, invade, early gank from jungler will make him useless. Rush Bramble and Tabbis if he is building AD. Rush Mercury and Abyssal (catalyst passive is good for laning) if he is building AP. |
Hard | Quinn | 50.8% | Similar to Jayce, but you punish her harder since she is very squishy. If she E into you, fling her then you keep chasing her until you kill her. Phase Rush may be a good option. Rush Bramble and Tabbis. |
Moderate-Hard | Yorick | 45% | His winning condition is to take down turrets as a strong splitpusher. Proxying will easily deter his winning condition. Theoretically, he is a melee champion in which you can easily win trade with. In reality, he can cage you easily and deals insane damage on you with his ghosts. It’s a skill matchup favourable to Yorick. He deserves a ban because he is dominant agaisnt melee and he takes down objectives easily. Rush Tabbis to dodge his cage. |
Moderate-Hard | Rumble | 49.2% | Kill potential on you at level 3. He always out-damage you. His Q is a free poke. Don't feed him since his mid game teamfight is as strong as Singed. Proxy is a good option. Also roam more and invade with your enemy jungler, since he isn't strong before level 6. You may win the matchup at level 6 provided that you dodge his E and R. Phase Rush may be a good option here for slow resistance and speed up. |
Moderate-Hard | Gnar | 49.7% | A cute version of Temmo. It's much easier to trade with him when he is in mega form, or when he spends his E. You will win the matchup at level 6 if your CS/Exp isn’t very behind ( - 15 CS, same level). You should ask for early gank since he is useless if you are ahead. Proxy or roaming also helps. |
Moderate-Hard | Pantheon | 51.8% | Kill potential on you at level 2. He snowballs very hard when he is ahead due to his insane ratio on Q and his semi-global ultimate for roaming. Proxy may be a bit dangerous since he has a reliable stun with W. You should for an early gank since he is useless if you are ahead. You can win the matchup at level 6 if your CS/Exp isn’t behind ( - 15 CS, same level). Build tank items first before going AP. |
Moderate-Hard | Fiora | 51.9% | Avoid her hitting vitals since vitals give her sustain, true damage bonus and movement speed. Bait her W when you try to fling him. Be aware of her level 6 since she can assassinate you (as a bruiser lol). When she ults on you, you can always walk along the wall to avoid her hitting all the vitals (i.e. hiding the last vital behind the wall). It’s a skill matchup favourable to Fiora. You should ask for early gank to make her useless in early game. She will out-scale Singed at level 11 (i.e. level 2 R and level 5 Q) no matter how hard she feeds in early game. If you want to ban her, ban her then. It hurts your brain when you spend too much effort on dodging her Q and W. Annoying matchup. Rush Bramble to reduce her heal. Rush Tabbis to out-run her (which is impossible even if you have Rylai RG Ghost ultimate passive). |
Moderate-Hard | Talon | 54.6% | Kill potential on you at level 2 due to his passive. Proxy may be dangerous since he can parkour, or you should ask for early gank since he is useless if you are ahead. Build tank items first before going AP. |
Moderate-Hard | Mordekaiser | 54.7% | He has free pokes on you. He is also too tanky to deal with. Although proxy gives him free farm to scale, proxy allows you to keep match with him in terms of CS and Exp. You are much stronger than him in teamfight. You can also consider to roam and invade with your enemy jungler since he is slow. |
Moderate-Hard | Tahm Kench | 60.6% | Don’t trade with him directly; otherwise you will lose trade. Stay behind minions. Avoid his Q and auto. Avoid 3 stacks. Fling him away immediately for a short trade and keep a distance away from him. |
Moderate | Vladimir | 46% | His winning condition is to out-sustain enemy in lane and snowballs from it. Avoid his empowered Q which gives a lot of heal against champion. Avoid his empowered E which deals insane damage in early game. Matchup slightly favourable to Vladimir due to lane sustain. You will win the matchup at level 5 (level 3 Q) or level 6 (health-regen and AP from R) if your CS/Exp isn’t very behind ( - 15 CS, same level). Build Mercury first for tenacity and then straight Liandry will out-damage him. |
Moderate | Orrn | 47.7% | Unlike traditional tanks Ornn can actually win against Singed in lane. His passive also allows him to buy items without going back. His W and E give a reliable CC and damage output. You have to time your fling well since Ornn cannot be interrupted when he is using W (mini Rumble Q). You loss game after 35:00 since he is too tanky. You can out-roam him in early game since he is slow. Matchup slightly favourable to Singed due to Singed's mobility. |
Moderate | Urgot | 48.9% | He is too tanky. Go proxy since you can't really deny his CS. Roam more since he is slow. |
Moderate | Olaf | 47.9% | He was a hard matchup due to slow from his Q. But with Phase Rush, his slow becomes less effective now. Proxy will force him to spend mana on waveclearing (olaf mana cost is very high in early levels). Staying in lane is only good when you are ahead of him and you can deny his farm. |
Moderate | Gangplank | 49.2% | He has pokes with his Q. He has W for sustain. He has E to slow you and gives him movement speed. Avoid his barrels. Force him to use Q on minions for last hitting. Go proxy so he will miss some CS under turret. If he has used his ultimate, consider to dive him with your jungler. Phase Rush will be a good option against his barrel slow in this situation. |
Moderate | Darius | 50.1% | Avoid his outer part of Q which deals extra damage on you (just stand right next to him when you trade with him, you will take much less damage). W stops his ult. Avoid 5 stacks. Bramble makes his heal less effective. Phase Rush is a good option against his W. Matchup slightly favourable to Darius because of his sustain from Q and 5 stacks passive. |
Moderate | Garen | 51.8% | Too tanky. Too much sustain. Proxy or deny his farm in lane. Don't let him teleport to bot lane at level 6. |
Moderate | Jarvan IV | 52.1% | He has kill potential on you at level 6. Taking flash may be a good option against his ultimate. Avoid his Q E auto combo. Matchup slightly favourable to Jarvan since he has reliable poke from Q. |
Moderate | Camille | 54.6% | You suffer against her in early game, but you will be fine at level 6. Avoid her W since it gives her sustain. Your mega adhesive will ground her mobility including Q. Avoid her auto since it gives her a shield. Matching/Grounding her teleport is important, because she can guarantee a successful bot lane roam with her ultimate. Proxy may be dangerous since she has high mobility. Recommend an early gank to demolish her in lane. |
Moderate | Aatrox | 55.1% | Kill potential on you at level 2. GA passive. He also out-sustains you with his W. Proxy is a good option, or you should ask for early gank. Rush Bramble to reduce his heal. You won't die to him at level 6 if your CS/Exp isn’t very behind ( - 15 CS, same level). |
Moderate | Renekton | 56.3% | He has kill potential on you at level 2-3. Avoid his empowered Q since it gives a lot of heal against champions. Avoid his empowered W which gives a long stun. Matchup slightly favourable to Renekton due to lane sustain. You will win the matchup at level 6 if your CS/Exp isn’t very behind ( - 15 CS, same level). |
Moderate | Kled | 56.8% | His passive is annoying. Avoid his Q (melee form). Not a hard lane, but not a easy lane either. |
Moderate | Ryze | 59.9% | Avoid his E Q combo. Staying behind minion helps. You will win the matchup at level 6 if your CS/Exp isn’t very behind ( - 15 CS, same level). |
Easy-Moderate | Swain | 50.9% | While his E is annoying, new Swain is useless against Singed. He is immobile, as long as you dodge his E, you will catch him and out-trade him easily. Even when he is at level 6, his heal isn't good enough to recover from the damage you dealt against him. You also heal much more than him. |
Easy-Moderate | Dr Mundo | 49.2% | Stay behind minions and you will out-trade him if you are not hit by his Q. His waveclearing is weak and he is slow which gives you room for roaming. |
Easy-Moderate | Nautilus | 52.6% | You hardly kill him in lane, but so does he. You may have a chance to kill him at level 6 but after that level 9 (level 5 shield) he will be unkillable. Trade with him when his shield is in cooldown. Avoid his E since it can hurt. You can bait his E by pretending to walk towards a minion. While his waveclear isn't bad, he doesn't have enough mana and cooldown to afford a speedy waveclearing before his first item (or Glacial Shroud). You should always abuse his ability cooldown and early mana issues to trade with him, roam around and proxy. |
Easy-Moderate | Cho Gath | 53.6% | He has insane sustain and slow from E. He has kill potential on you at level 6. It may be hard to kill him or deter his farm, so proxy may be a better option, unless you ask for an early gank. You can out-roam him in early game since he is slow. |
Easy-Moderate | Illaoi | 53.7% | Avoid his Q and E. She has kill potential on you at level 3. But, you always win trade if you take a short trade and keep a distance away from her (if she is taking Press The Attack). Don't ask for jungler gank when she is level 6. Go proxy, force her to stay in lane so she can't use her teleport and ultimate in bot lane. |
Easy-Moderate | Tryndamere | 54.1% | He has kill potential on you at level 2. But, you always win trade if you take a short trade and keep a distance away from him (if he is taking Press The Attack). Also don't use your fling unless he used his E (dash to get to you). Avoid long trades since he builds up crits when he auto-attacks. Building Bramble may help but it only works when he heals under Grievous Wound (which is very unlikely if he is wise enough). |
Easy-Moderate | Trundle | 55.7% | He has kill potential on you at level 2. But, you always win trade if you take a short trade and keep a distance away from him (if he is taking Press The Attack). His passive gives him sustain in lane, making the matchup a bit harder. His waveclearing is weak which gives you room for roaming. Proxy is also an option since it's hard to deny his CS. |
Easy | Maokai | 47.4% | You win lane, but you loss game after 35:00 since he is too tanky. You can out-roam him in early game since he is slow. |
Easy | Shen | 50.6% | Avoid his empowered attack as it really hurts you. Otherwise he has no kill potential on you at all. You job is to stop his teleport and ultimate with fling and mega adhesive, which deters his winning condition. Proxy also forces him to stay in lane. |
Easy | Nasus | 52.4% | Avoid any trade in his E since his Q will deal extra damage. Your job is to interrupt his farming, which deters his winning condition – 1. toggle poison at him when he is farming – 2. fling him into your minions with poison, he will AA you in return which attracts minion aggro, you can AA him one time and run away to avoid minion aggro – 3. ask for camping top lane – 4. While he is farming under turret, roam for kills – 5. Rush bramble to reduce his healing from Q. – 6. Farm your CS with autos, but not with poison, so you can freeze the wave. – 7. Don't proxy, stay in lane and stop him from farming. Your CS/min will be crap, but it's even worse for Nasus. – 8. Push wave immediately when he decides to go back. – 9. When he is walking to the lane, you walk past the enemy turret and fling him into mega adhesive. He will be rooted for 1 second, thus misses 2 cs. Easy | Irelia | 53.0% | She has kill potential on you at level 2. But, you always win trade if you take a short trade and keep a distance away from her (if she is taking Press The Attack). If you are in high elo, she is a moderate matchup. |
Easy | Riven | 53.8% | She has kill potential on you at level 2. But, you always win trade if you take a short trade and keep a distance away from her (if she is taking Press The Attack). Use your fling to cancel her 3rd Q. W also grounds her from dashes, which is very important during a trade. |
Easy | Yasuo | 56.0% | You always win trade if you take a short trade and keep a distance away from (if he is taking Press The Attack). If you are in high elo, he is a moderate matchup. |
Easy | Poppy | 57.6% | Unless you are hit by her E Q combo, she has no kill potential on you. You hardly kill her in lane since she is too tanky. Go proxy for perfect CS. Then, invade enemy jungle and gank mid with your jungler. Poppy isn't strong in early-mid game. |
Easy | Ekko | 62.9% | Avoid his 3-hit passive and Q, then you will rekt him in lane. His winning condition is roaming, so proxying or roaming with him will deter him. |
Very Easy | Jax | 50.5% | He has kill potential on you at level 2 but you still rekt him in lane. Avoid his stun; otherwise you will lose trade. Use your fling when he decides to Q E combo on you. |
Very Easy | Sion | 50.8% | You rekt him in lane. Avoid his Q stun and shield burst. His winning condition is roaming with his ultimate, so proxying or teleporting to where he roams will deter him. |
Very Easy | Wukong | 53.5% | You rekt him in lane. His winning condition is roaming (pre and post-6), so proxying or roaming with him will deter him. If you target Wukong with your fling before he clones, it will cancel the fling when he activates it. This means you always know if it's the real one and never fling the clone. He has no other escape and loses trades as long as you fling him and not his clone (thanks /u/chi-ro) |
Very Easy | Malphite | 56.2% | You rekt him in lane. Forcing him to build MR makes his more useless in mid game. |
Very Easy | Galio | 63.5% | You rekt him in lane. His winning condition is roaming with his ultimate, so proxying or stopping his ult will deter him. |
