Hi everyone,
I'm starting to make my own setups in Richard Burns Rally, and although I know there is no mathematical formula to make good setups, I realized that at least I could use math to specify the max suspension/wheel travel in each direction (up/down), and in this way have at least a base to work with. But I have no idea how much wheel travel could be necessary for each type of surface (smooth tarmac, rough tarmac, gravel, etc.).
Any help, information, or reference to any article/book on the topic is appreciated.
Edit: Another question. Is there a way to calculate the motion ratio (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_ratio) in RBR? I was trying to divide the change in ride height over the change in spring length, but it doesn't give me a constant value, as the length increases so does the motion ratio, or isn't it supposed to be constant?
