Triple monitor mount that "closes up"?
Post Body

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone with experience with triples can help me understand if this is worth pursuing or not.

The idea is to design a mounting arm for a triple monitor setup that is compatible with aluminum extrusion. But that will allow me to quickly undo a hand bolt and swing the arms in toward the rig when not in use. The plan would be to make the bracket out of steel and the arm out of aluminum extrusion (similar to advanced sim racings integrated triples mount, since I already own their integrated single mount).

I've heard a lot about alignment troubles with triples, if I'm not using bezel free kits, and I place a stop so the arm maxes out at the required angle for consistency, would alignment still be a major issue?

The other concern which I have some possible ideas for, is that the pivot point may cause the sides of the monitors to crash into each other.

I think I may 3d print this prototype bracket design, with a short 3d printed aluminum extrusion bar and a cardboard cut out in the shape of a monitor simply for testing out the mechanics of it all and seeing what might need to be changed before I buy and parts and have the steel brackets manufactured.
