During the COVID lockdowns I was night audit and later GM at a Red Roof. I played Fallout 76 for 18 hours straight while clocked in at the front desk for check ins. That was my favorite record at work. We had a deployment of travel nurses showing up that day.

Not until relief drops off their crotch goblin at school and spends twenty minutes ordering coffee at Starbucks.

How long were you working for the Mormons?

I was working a HIE just this spring! Company got me on a task force routine and now I'm covering a couple of Hilton's nearby.

When it comes to the boomer guests that's what I am when they can't connect to wifi at 2am.

Years ago I get hired at this old worn out Mormon Residence Inn by an airport. Turns out it was their concept property from the 70's and hadn't had any of the buildings updated in a decade. Yes, buildings. All the rooms and suites were 6 to a building spread among 16 buildings. Plus the main building with the pool, check in, and breakfast. The current owner had been slacking hard on all fronts.

During my first month we lost our Marriott franchise and had to go independent. I got 2 days training on FOSSE and like a week of use. Then we switched to Passkey after going independent.

In my second month the property was foreclosed on by the bank and management company was put in place. I stayed on for almost another year since the manager they installed was pretty chill.

I was on the border of a legal state with enough 'cool' interstate regulars and they were my lifeline. And it was all just 'gratuity'. Like I never had to ask, they just smoked me up and dropped off 'tips'.

My favorite was an 'independent contractor' that would give me edibles and bud just to order his food. Like he'd hand me an ounce of pretty sweet bud and I'd order him two large pizzas.

And the weed was pretty fucking good. Made me forget I was basically living at a Re Roof.

So hey, how can I buy you a bottle of liquor? Like mid shelf or lower because I'm hourly....

...but my first reaction is to buy you booze after hearing that weird mad sadness.

I'm still front desk. It's my key source of exposure therapy to being human.

I'm low key jelly which means I've been doing this shit for too long.
