Was reflecting on our tiny house build recently.
We bought the trailer in September 2020, so this is eighteen months progress. Slow but it has had long periods of not a lot happening, plus it is 45 minutes from where we live.
The project will cost about $50k. Had no professional help at all, and almost all of the building work was just me. My wife is doing more and more of the fitting out. Definitely a team effort now.
There's been lots of modifications along the way. Lots of frustration. Lots of problem solving.
As of now we have the composting toilet in. Plasterboarding is almost finished pending getting the sheet lifter for the three sheets on the ceiling and finalising plumbing and pressure testing before closing those parts in. Solar has been operational for nine months.
The plan is to be there on and off, then early low-cost retirement when the kids are a little older before I'm 50.
