My coworker today in the office chit chat happened to mention that sitting at a desk to work affects most women 2 or 3 times as much as it affects the average man, risk of heart disease and other health factors.
I have been applying for other roles anyway and just got offered a fancy new job a 1.5 hour commute away.
Tonight I did some soul searching and realised that the most satisfying work I ever did and the healthiest I felt was when I cleaned. I looked and found a position paying £2 per hour less than my current role and consulted my partner, and applied.
I feel really excited. I'd love to get it. I don't want to sit at a desk all day jealous of the cleaning staff in the office, that's ridiculous. I can do it and I was so good at it! Wish me luck.
