A few years ago I started to get a nagging feeling of low-key guilt/anxiety about owning "stuff" I never use from old hobbies. IE: Musical equipment from a band I was in that broke up.
I realize as I get older and have more major responsibilities, I have less time for hobbies, and I'm gravitating towards things like writing and photography where I create something, versus video games and movies where I consume things created by others.
Neither writing nor photography (at least with my crappy camera) are very expensive -costing more time than money - and I'm debating on selling a bunch of video games and other stuff I don't use. Has anyone else found that you eventually tired of a hobby you really used to enjoy, and feel a little guilty about owning stuff that you intend to use but never do? If you sold all the associated stuff with it to simplify and focus your interests, did you regret it later?
I'm not looking to do anything really extreme. I was actually debating just keeping a couple of my favorite games, and maybe invest the money I make selling things on a new camera or a nice writing desk or something.
